Philip has the same messy mop of chestnut coloured hair like his father. He gets his pale grey eyes and pale skin from his mother. They are both jealous of his father's freckles. He is of average height for a boy his age.
His mother, Helen O'Brien, is a librarian.
His father, Thomas O'Brien, is a lawyer.
Helen is a squib and she moved to the muggle world to study. Although she has a loving family who accepts her, she didn't feel like she belonged in the wizarding world. She met Philip's father, who is a muggle, at university.
Only his father can cook and bake, his mother gets by with a few simple recipes but she is a good gardener.
His aunt, Patricia, visited them often so Philip would have a little magic in his life.
Philip is mysterious and doesn't talk much to people he doesn't know but once you get to know him, he's very cheeky and can never shut up. Especially around people he's most comfortable with like his parents and friends.
He loves nature and animals. He can't cook or bake. He loves reading and gardening with his mother. He also loves pressing flowers and leaves.
First magic: the day after his ninth Birthday, he was reaching for the cookie jar but it was too high up. His mother had put it there because he keeps snacking in between meals. He knew he was too small to reach it but he kept trying until the jar wiggled from side to side on its own and fell down. His mother came running into the kitchen to see what happened. She asked him what happened and all he had to say for himself was "I really wanted a cookie."
Philip's father knew about magic through Helen. He was very interested in magic and was immediately welcomed into the family. Everyone thought it would be best for Philip to attend a muggle school. He has one best friend, Conor, from this school who doesn't know he's a wizard. He knows he can trust him but he doesn't know how to tell him. When Philip recieved his letter, he told Conor he was going to a boarding school in England.
