Aeyrun Whitehall
Status:
Pure-blood
Nationality:
English
Residence:
London, England
Function:
First year, Slytherin
Wand:
28,8 cm aspen wood and jackalope antler
Physical Description:

A tangled mess of curly raven hued hair rest on the head of the olive skinned youth. A set of hetero-chromatic eyes – his right eye set in ashen grey, while his left is a striking amber-- peer beneath the stray locks of hair that wander over his forehead in a fringe.
Seemingly standing at a somewhat modest height in relation to his peers, Aeyrun’s lithe build is almost always in slight hunch, making him seem shorter than he actually is, an issue with which his mother constantly scolds him on.
When not in his school uniform, the lad wears formfitting clothes in shades of black, dark blue, and deep green. The clothes are always that of the latest fashion-- not that he actually cares-- as purchased by his mother. “You’re a pure-blood wizard son, best to dress he part.”

Personality:

Aeyrun is… well… arrogant, generally treating others with cool disdain until they prove that
they’re worth his time, at which point he becomes somewhat warm. While he does not go out of his way to make muggle- born and half-blood witches and wizards feel unwelcome, he does tend to keep them several arm lengths away.

Aeyrun is a pure-blood from a rather long and storied line of witches and wizards, a fact that he will tell you should be be anything less that, which is almost everyone in his eyes.

Growing up in a rather wealthy family, Aeyrun has most of his life already planned out by his family, a family that hosts as many great dinner parties as it has connections in the wizarding world. Despite being an only child a rather large mansion, Aeyrun was never
short of company, often playing with other pure-blood children, along with the fact that he often preferred his own company to that of others.

A point which was underscored when his magical talent first manifested at the age of 9 when he caused a minor disturbance at one of his peer's birthday party by partially encasing the boy's lower body in a block of ice. The whole incident was cause of great joy within the Whitehall household, it turns out that Aeyrun was a bit of late bloomer, with him being the only Whitehall to show an inclination to magic this late. Looking back now, Aeyrun is pretty sure that they would have disowned him right there if he turned out to be a Squib.

Family History

The Whitehall family name stretches back almost 400 years, back to Conobar Whitehall, why he left
his home to settle in England has always been something of debate amongst various scholar’s
throughout the ages. It wasn’t until recently-- about 85 years ago-- that it was discovered that Conobar had fled his home in the city of Rome to escape certain death, it would be upon reaching the shore’s of England would he change his last name to Whitehall.

While not the most talented wizard, Conobar had a talent for subtle manipulation, whether it
magical or simply using his unusually charismatic self. He made sure to quickly establish himself within the country’s elite while slowly creating an expansive network of couriers, information brokers, and spies. It would be around this time-- about 15 years since he settled in England-- that he would meet, and eventually marry a witch named Christina with whom he fathered two children; Alistar and Merril. Both of whom were born with a rather curious feature, Merril much like her father had amber eyes, while Alistar’s left eye was amber while his right was a brilliant blue, much
like his mother’s.

As the twins grew it became apparent that Merril was most like her father, displaying an uncanny aptitude for manipulating almost any situation to her liking, her brother on the other hand rarely did such, preferring to use his wand over his words, much like Christina. It would be when the twins reached the age of 15 that Christina caught wind of several Roman wizards who had come to
England, and have begun asking about her husband, finding it alarming that they didn’t know about
this sooner, she quickly told Conobar about this worrying development.

Fearing that their spies had been turned, the two engaged in a deadly game of subterfuge, turning
their own spies against each other to root out the traitors. It would take almost 5 years until the
Roman wizards were eventually dealt with, but at the cost of setting their spy network ablaze. In the
following years, Conobar and Christina would set about rebuilding their operations, weaving the webs of deceit so much so that not even their agents know who they’re working for.

It would be around this time that the twins were taken into the family business, something at which
they would excel at, not only expanding the network, but by forging strong connections with other
powerful wizarding families. Merril and Alistar would eventually take over the network as time, but
not before they married and had children of they’re own. Alistar had 3 children of his own; Leilian, Dante, and Yavana, while Merril had 2; Kieran and Sigrun. All the children had the same curious quirk as their parents, the girls had all amber eyes, while the boys had the left amber eye, and the right iris would be the same colour as the non-Whitehall parent.
This would come to be one defining trait of those with Whitehill blood running through their veins, the other would come be something of a curse on the family.

Every Whitehall daughter retains their
last/maiden name-- much to the ire of he family she might be married to-- in keeping to a tradition set by Merril, who refused to change her name when she was married. This sparked quite a row between the Whitehall and the now forgotten family, a row which ended when Merril finally gave in. This, however, would be the start of a series of disasters to befall the husband’s family. By the time Sigrun was born, the family had all but met tragic ends. It would be when Merril’s husband passed on and she changed her last name, along with that of the children back to Whitehall did the curse end, but by then it was too late, the family soon faded from memory. The same has happened to every Whitehall daughter who had their last name changed when they were wed.

Outside of the Whitehall curse and their consistent genetic traits, not much is known about the
family. The large network of spies they once held also seem to have faded from existence, as to
whether they still operate, or even, exist is up for speculation.
