Raised in a low-income, muggle home by a depressed mother and a half-brother that was double her age, Piper Bancroft turned out to be much better adjusted than anyone expected.

At eleven years old, she's an exceptionally sweet girl, outgoing by nature and always looking to expand her circle of friends. She houses a wild imagination, and an incredible ability to spin fantastical stories on the spot with very little prompting at all. (This skill also lends itself to being a good liar, though she tries to only use her "powers" for good.) While her diagnosed dyslexia has given her trouble in the education system, she possesses an inquisitive mind and a hunger for learning, and is always sure to encourage others to pursue their passions the same way she's been fortunate enough to be encouraged all of her life.

Going in hand with her pleasant personality, Piper has grown to be an attractive young girl, with soft blonde hair she keeps cropped to her chin and a round, youthful face. Her eyes are wide and round, giving her a perpetual expression of innocent wonder, and colored a deep slate blue. She currently stands at an even five feet and is not expected to grow much more, meaning that, while she's tall for her age now, she certainly won't be for long. Her figure is narrow and almost boyish, and her limbs are lithe and lined with wiry muscle, giving her more strength than she appears to have.

Her first case of accidental magic occurred when she was seven years old, and it was impossible for her family to dismiss: her mother showed her, for the very first time, the one and only picture she had with Piper’s father. Gazing at the face a man she’d never known, a man who should have been there but wasn’t, Piper was filled with the most intense loathing she’d ever experienced, and the picture burst into flame in her mother’s hand. But it didn’t just burn to ash, oh no. If it had, perhaps the incident could have been written off. Instead, the flames burned away the half of the photo that held her father, leaving her mother perfectly in tact.

Suffice to say, Piper’s mother and brother were more than a little unnerved. Piper seemed to be, for all intents and purposes, the same bubbly, entirely average girl they both knew, and they still loved her dearly. But now there was no denying something was off, and neither of them knew what to do about it. That is, not until a representative of Hogwarts School showed up on their doorstep, offering a letter and an explanation.
