Duna was born into a muggle family. She had muggle parents and was a fairly normal child. She has dark brown hair and grayish-blue eyes. She was a very obedient girl, afraid to make anyone angry at her. She hardly ever lied and was incredibly kind hearted from a young age.
Duna was also born a mute. Her vocal cords were not fully developed when she was born so she could not create words. She was unable to cry loudly as a baby and had to be watched almost constantly. This made her parents very overprotective of her.
She began learning sign language at the time other kids were learning to talk. She also carried around a small journal with her so she could communicate with others who couldn’t sign. Because of this she learned how to write and read at a very young age. By the time she was seven she could read entire novels in just a few days.
Despite this Duna was still very outgoing and extroverted, but her inability to speak made it difficult to make friends and she was often left out. Her parents began considering homeschooling, but they made their decision to when she began showing signs of magic at the age of eight.
Duna had always loved animals and plants, preferring to spend much of her time outside reading. Her family’s home was near the woods, so she would often go explore for hours on end, not coming back until after dark(much to her parents' chagrin). When questioned why she stayed out so late she simply said she had been ‘dancing with the fireflies’. One day she had found a small bluebird who had accidentally run into a window, breaking its wing. Duna picked it up and brought it inside, her parents told her to leave it, as it was going to die anyway. Duna began to cry and as she did the bluebird’s wing shifted back into place, healing completely.
From that day on Duna would go out to find any bugs, birds, animals, and even plants that had been hurt, attempting to heal them. It didn’t work most of the time, as she couldn’t control her magic.
Duna’s parents were both confused and upset, as it was only a matter of time before everyone realized Duna was different. Duna’s parents would often ask her how she had done it, but Duna had no idea.
On her 11th birthday Duna received a letter by owl, requesting she attend Hogwarts. Duna's parents were hesitant to let her go, but gave in after much begging on their daughter’s part.

Personality:
Duna is still very kind and gentle, seeing the best in everyone and granting way to many second chances. She is also quite gullible and naive, trusting others much to quickly. She likes to read, write, and draw, and is often found with her nose in a book. She almost always has a kind smile on her face and tries her best to cheer others up. She is very much an optimist and always sees the best in everyone, even if they’ve hurt her before.

Appearance:
Duna’s dark brown hair is in a short pixie cut, and she usually has a bow or two clipped in her hair as well. Her eyes are still a greyish blue, although they have dulled to much more of a light grey over the years. Her face is dotted with freckles and she always wears cute little cupcake or heart earrings. She has a thin frame and is very light for her age. Duna hardly ever opens her mouth, even when she laughs. Her favorite color is pink and she wears mostly pastels and oversized sweaters. She loves to make friendship bracelets and keeps several on hand for anyone she might meet.

Wand:
23,6 cm Chestnut Wood and Phoenix Feather
Chestnut Wood- “This is a most curious, multi-faceted wood, which varies greatly in its character depending on the wand core, and takes a great deal of colour from the personality that possesses it. The wand of chestnut is attracted to witches and wizards who are skilled tamers of magical beasts, those who possess great gifts in Herbology, and those who are natural fliers.” -Pottermore.com
Phoenix Feather Core- “This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike. Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won.” -Pottermore.com
