Physical Description: A little on the tall side for her age, Maren does what she can to make herself seem as small and unnoticeable as possible. Her long blonde hair is always hiding her face from view when sitting in class and she has a hard time meeting the eyes of those speaking to her, her own brown ones usually looking down at the ground.

History/Personality:
Maren is a reserved kid originally from the states and only recently moved to England. Her father, born and raised here (and a previous attendant of Hogwarts), brought Maren and her younger brother back to his home country after the death of their mother to live with his parents while they all tried to get back on their feet. The pain of losing her mother is still heavy on her mind as she begins her first school year as a young witch at Hogwarts but it doesn't curb her enthusiasm for learning.

When her mother was alive, Maren's parents were fun and adventurous. Living in Montana, they'd frequently take family hiking trips on the weekends, something she truly misses. Her father, where he was lively and always making jokes before, has become reserved. He's thrown himself into his new job to keep his mind off of things and spends less time at home than before, leaving the parenting to Maren's grandparents. Her grandparents are kind and do like to spoil them a bit, but it hasn't done much for her spirits as they're still almost like strangers since she had only seen them a handful of times previously.

Like her father, Maren is also much different from her old self. Although she had friends back in the states, since her mother's death and the move to a new country, she's fallen into a fairly quiet demeanor and isn't as outspoken or talkative as she once was, mostly keeping to herself outside of class or musing out loud to her cat, Chuy. Her little brother, only four, still doesn't exactly know what's going on. He keeps asking when mommy is coming home and when does he get to go back home to his old room. She hides in her room most days to avoid his questions.

Maren has a passion for storytelling and is regularly seen writing down ideas in her journal and doodling pictures along the margins. When she was around 5-years-old and coloring on a little sketchbook in the backyard, her mother looked out the window to see flower petals and small chirping birds bouncing around her comically in a circle, unnoticed by the little witch as she hummed quietly to herself. Thankfully, none of the neighbors were out walking around to see it and, with a flick of her wand, her mother sent the dancing halo away.

More often than not, Maren is being chided due to daydreaming in class about her characters' next adventures. One day she hopes to run her own small bookshop and cafe where she might even be able to sell some of her own stories for people to read, though she's not sure if other people would even like them.

While not coordinated enough in the slightest to actually play herself, she is a fierce supporter of the Falmouth Falcons Quidditch team and sports many posters of the players on her walls in her room at home. One summer, now that she lives in England, she wants to go with her father (also an avid fan) to watch them play.
