Dennis Harris grew up in a very loving family. His mother, a muggle, loved and doted on him every chance she was given. She worried over every scrape or bruise, fretting over anything that may hurt or even upset little Dennis. That's why she was so distraught when Dennis' father began to teach him about magic. He has loved it from an early age, but has had little chance to practice. Even with such a worried mother watching them like a hawk, Dennis has still found every opportunity to get away with his father and learn something new. Every moment learning under his father has been rushed, making it vital for Dennis to become a quick learner.

All the lessons began with riding his fathers first broom in their garage, his mother chewing her fingernails to the quick. He was a natural on the thing, though he never gets to fly it due to his mothers fear of him being spotted or worse- getting hurt. All these home lessons under his belt, it was no surprise when Dennis' letter came, sending his mother into a fit of worry and his father into a joyous dance across the kitchen. His father had never explained what Hogwarts was, or that he would ever get a chance to go. He had apparently always been certain his mother would object, but at the growth she had seen over the years, and a bit of pleading from them both, she accepted. Dennis has spent every night since begging his father to teach him more, to teach him everything he possibly needs to know for when he arrives at Hogwarts.

Dennis is a fun-loving kid. He makes a joke out of absolutely everything and comes off about as dense as can be. He's a jokester when the time is right, but a trustworthy and caring friend when one needs him to be. He's thrilled to make new friends around every corner and hopes Hogwarts will allow him the chances he desires to learn and grow and bond.
