Gabrielle Armance Zoeva Gilmore is the only daughter of Félicie, a french herbologist, and Marcus Gilmore, a respected policeman. They lived peacefully on the outskirts of town, in a big house being passed down from generation to generation on her father's side. Her mother being a herbologist, Gabrielle was always surrounded by the most bizarre and exotic plants. She learned her mother's spells and potion recipes, hoping to one day be like her. The house always smelled of food since her father loved cooking and experimenting. They often spent afternoons together, cooking and baking, much to her mother's joy.

On one of those afternoons, the cake recipe seemed to have magically disappeared. Her father soon understood that Gabrielle had managed to wipe off the ink and later found the recipe written on the ceiling. Her parents were ecstatic and her mother started teaching her the basic spells. Gabrielle often bragged about it at school but was disappointed when all her friends started laughing as she didn't know she was different.

Gabrielle was often told she looked just like her mother, and as she grew older and older, the resemblance got even stronger. She had white-gold short straight hair, that often seemed like it was flowing despite there being no wind. Her eyes had managed to have everyone's attention. Her right eye was of a light brown colour, and her left eye was emerald green. Her skin was very porcelain like and seemed to glow in the sun.
A few light freckles covered her nose and cheeks but were hardly ever seen.

Gabrielle always seemed to be popular among her classmates. Most of them wanted to assist her, or simply keep her company. She knew that if she looked longly enough into their eyes, they would eventually do what she asked. Her teachers were very confused as to how she managed to mesmerize everyone. Gabrielle was told on many occasions that is wasn't normal, but didn't feel like she was doing anything wrong.
Her mother explained to her that it was mostly because her Grand-mother was different.

On a bright afternoon, as she came back from school, she noticed an owl flying towards her house. She ran to catch up to him and jumed to seize the letter he had dropped. Gabrielle quickly headed inside, yelling and jumping everywhere. Her mother, her father and herself sat down on the couch as they all looked at the letter. Gabrielle couldn't believe her eyes and kept reading over and over again. Once she finished reading it for the hundredth time, all she wanted to do was inform her cousin Charlotte Cadunt. She grabbed a paper and scribbled as fast as she could that she was accepted at Hogwarts and couldn't wait to meet her in Diagon Alley.
