Born to Erin and Sean Glennane, a muggle couple who resided comfortably in a city home in Sean's home-town in Ireland. Michael would be the first of two sons, his younger brother Rhys born only a year after himself. Later, sometime during Michael's second year of muggle schooling, the small family would move to Harleston, England as his mothers artistic career led to opportunity.

Because of his mixed heritage and the movement between Ireland and England in his younger years, Michael has picked up pieces of language and culture from both. He knows some of the Gaelic language, but his tongue is accented between the two countries. He is of below average height for his age (at 11), slight of build and with thin features. Eyes a stormy grey-blue and hair a dark blonde, cut short and falling- often messily- over his forehead.

Michael's magic first surfaced during his time at muggle schooling. After classes Michael and Rhys found themselves in a spot of trouble with several bullies (an event he denies being responsible for, but the truth of that is debatable). While fleeing making a tactical retreat, a set of doors slammed shut on their pursuers. Michael's magic lashing out in defence and leaving the group to slam into the glass doors, confused and humiliated as Michael and Rhys made their escape. Michael reasoned the door closed because of a gust of wind, lucky but nothing extraordinary. Only a week later, a letter arrived in the post; Michael's acceptance letter into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

He had though it an absolutely absurd notion at first. A joke, surely, and he was smarter than to fall for it. He was well versed in such things, having gotten himself into trouble before with his quick wit and dry humor. But, as he would soon discover, Hogwarts was very real.

The second time his magic came to surface was during dinner one night. And this time, there was no mistaking it for the wind or chance. It was magic, plain and simple, that shattered every cup on the table, including the one in his own hand. He earned a scar along his palm for the feat, but nothing more was harmed.

Michael and his parents replied to the acceptance letter the very next day. He hesitantly packed his bags and prepared for his new school. In a magical world the likes of which he could never have imagined. The only question that remained; Was he excited, or terrified?
