Conall grew up as the eldest of four, sharing his house with has Parents (Caden and Shannon) and his 6-year old triplet sisters. (Maeve, Taegan and Fiona). His mother Sharon is a reasonably well known author of children's fiction and Caden earns a living as an ornithologist.

Growing up in Loughrea has been great so far, according to Connal. The short, ginger spitfire usually spends his time outdoors. Be it with his friends in the wooded hills that compose the southern border of the town or at the lake shore, together with his da. His light, freckled skin is often covered in cuts, bruises, scabs or other 'trophies' from the play sessions he has with his friends.

Connal is pretty rowdy and active, getting in to all kinds of trouble with his friends and sometimes his little sisters, whom he loves unconditionally. He has a good heart in general, often taking the blame for mischief so others can go unpunished. The young Irishman doesn't have a problem with authority, but he's quick to question any opinion but his own. When Connal sets his mind to something it will take a lot of convincing to make him change his course. That being said, he does have a pretty good moral compass, easily able to distinguish right from wrong.

An average student at best, but excelling in the courses he takes an interest in, namely history and biology. Conall shares his love of birds with his father, who often takes him to work after school.

The bond he has with his mother is pretty remarkable, the two always seem to know what the other is thinking or feeling. Being a writer, Shannon has imprinted a love of fantasy and stories into her eldest son. A ritual they have is that every night, after supper, he spends time with his mother in her writing room. Here he tells her all about what he did that day, often embellishing the stories to such a level that they seem to come straight from a fantastic novel. In these stories he and his friends or siblings can be anything from plundering pirates, to fearsome creatures or anything in between.

This love for embellishing stories is sometimes the cause for trouble at school, where his teachers sometimes have a hard time believing what the boy has to say. When called out on a lie, his parents usually wave it away as an active imagination.

A little while ago, strange things started to happen around Connal. It felt like sometimes, he knew exactly what other people were thinking. Able to finish their thoughts for them. This happened sporadically at first, but at one point it felt like Connal was hearing voices coming from all around him.
Around this time, a letter with a red Wax seal landed on the Kelly's porch and Connal's life would never be the same again. The rest of the family might have been shocked at first, but soon embraced their new reality. During their Shopping spree at Diagon Alley, the Kelly's walked around in amazement, happy that their son would be spending time in this remarkable world.

When saying goodbye at the train station, his mother gifted him with a beautiful leather notebook. On the inside cover she had penned a parting message for the apple of her eyes:

"Life is a story, dream big and you decide how it plays out"

"Love, Ma and Da"
