Abridged History
Gilford-- or "Gil" for short with those he is familiar with --is originally American born out of New York City to an affluent family and doting parents Silas and Abigail Rosenthal. When his magical talents revealed themselves his father made the decision to send the boy to live with his aunt in London so that Gilford would qualify to attend Hogwarts as he had when he was young.
Appearance
Gilford is what some might consider average for an eleven year old boy. He is possessed of an average Caucasian complexion and wears his hair tidy and relatively short though it is clear he puts a great deal of effort into being as cleanly cut as he is. If there is anything striking about him, striking as an eleven year old can be at any rate, it would be the brightness of his blue eyes which give the impression of a young man who's mind is constantly at work.
Personality
A little bit of a fish out of water, Gilford is unfamiliar with most things English and European but does not let that impact his decision making. He tends towards a pensive and quiet nature for a boy so young but his mind is always moving even when he is not.
Some boys might feel abandoned by their parents for having been sent away to another country to study but for Gilford he sees it as a presented challenge by his father. Silas had always been a supportive and loving father but at the same time he held high expectations that his boy would be a skilled wizard like him. To that end Gilford is driven to succeed and is ambitious to a fault. While he is not particularly predisposed towards acts of wickedness or malevolence, he is not opposed to such things if they present a favorable risk to reward proposition.
