Personality: Rowan usually only talks when people talk to him or when he finds something important. That being said he is rather kind. He will usually do anything to make someone else smile. People who know him sometimes say he knows them more than they know themselves. However, he doesn't really interact with anyone unless they seem upset.

Appearance: Rowan is a pale skinny kid with red hair that looks slightly brown in certain lighting. He has a few freckles on his cheeks and has light green eyes. He also has a birthmark on his chest that looks like a crescent moon with a star in the center of it.

History: Rowan was born an only child on September 23, 2007, to a muggle named Eleanor and a pureblood wizard named Nolan. Eleanor met Nolan when he entered her bakery one day. He told her that he was traveling the world looking for powerful artifacts. Now she didn’t take this seriously but she thought he was cute. Long story short they hit it off. Eventually, she found out his crazy stories of magic were actually real. By then, however, she had already fallen in love so that didn’t matter much. So after about three years of on and off romance they settled down and had Rowan. It was a rough start as Nolan wasn’t used to living a muggle life and Eleanor was not use to the small amounts of magic around the house.

After a few months of struggle, everything eventually calmed down. Eleanor and Nolan were happy together. Nolan even helped in Eleanor's bakery. They could have lived in this peace forever, but one day a colleague of Nolan contacted him about the artifact he was looking for. Nolan couldn't refuse this opportunity so he left promising to return soon. Months passed with no word from Nolan and eventually, Eleanor gave up hope of him returning. It was hard for her to explain to a now four-year-old Rowan that his father wasn't returning. Rowan was destroyed at this concept and he never really recovered. When he grew older he became a loner. It's not that he didn't get along with anyone it's just he didn't try to form relationships. His mother didn't want to force him to talk to others as she hoped he would grow out of it, but the trauma of losing his father wasn't something that was easily fixed.

It didn't help when Rowan's magic appeared at the age of nine. Eleanor could deal with a normal grieving child but not a magical one. Rowan's magic was chaotic and unruly. It first appeared when he and his mother were arguing about something stupid. Out of nowhere books started to fly around the house and a small bit of rain started to fall outside. Which wouldn't have been a bad thing if the rain wasn't falling only around their house. This was a nightmare for Eleanor. She loved her child but didn't know how to take care of him when it came to his random outbursts of magic. After four exhausting days, Rowan eventually grew used to his magic and could even control it slightly. Though his mother still feared that Rowan didn't have enough control; so she pulled him out of school and taught him at home.

The last two years of Rowan's life was spent mostly in solitude. The only real contact he had with the outside world was when he helped in his mother's bakery. Rowan was content with this life and didn't really want it to change. So when the letter to Hogwarts arrived he was devastated and didn't want to go. His mother, on the other hand, saw it as an opportunity and told her son that it was for the best that he attended. If he didn't want to stay then he could always come home. She just wanted him to try it because he could be around people like himself.
