Mildred Joyeux Hunch
Half-blood
Mildred was orphaned at a young age due to the previous wizarding war. Left with no one to care for her, she cared for by an old witch that was often found wandering around Diagon Alley. Without enough money, she was unable to attend Hogwarts or other schools and did not have the opportunity to have formal training in magic.
She used all the money she has saved to buy herself books, but are useless as she is not granted any use of a wand. The wandmaker requires and endorsement from the school, but as she’s not enrolled anywhere, her endorsement should come from the ministry itself. Disheartened but unwilling to give up, she studied what she can anyway.
She had an affinity for potions, a skill she’s experiemented with using about-to-expire ingredients that was thrown away by the stores. Of course, the effectiveness of these potions are severely affected and she’s only able to produce up to 5% of what the potion is supposed to do. With no magic component, this was almost a miracle.
When she turned 21, she was accepted to work as a waitress in the Leaky Cauldron. It was unsurprising then that she took up bartending and mixing drinks under the barkeep of the Leaky Cauldron after he gave her employment as a waitress.
