Zephyr Dumsar, born July 7th, 2008 to Aoife Marie Dumsar, a magical painter, who is known for her splendid moving paintings, particularly of magical creatures, brought to life with magnificent brush strokes. Zephyr was conceived on Samhain, otherwise known by muggles and some Wizards as All Hallows Eve, or Halloween! Her mother often told her bedtime stories of being blessed by magic, born on the 7th day of 7th month, the number of magic and magical creatures. Her mother was always the artistic, romantic sort, playing music for her from enchanted muggle technology while they'd dance and paint together. Zephyr's interests were never quite so artsy; they live in Ireland, in a magical forest, in a cozy cottage, surrounded by magical flora and fauna of all sorts. Zephyr grew up categorizing and cataloging these creatures and plants for her own amusement, eyes wide with wonder for the world around her, mind constantly wracking for new ways to use this information. She sought to invent her own potions, her own uses for the things surrounding her. Her mother quickly realized her daughter's interests in these things, and would often paint the latest object of her daughter's fascination; as such, the walls of their home are filled with moving paintings of every magical creature and plant found in the woods of their home; Zephyr's particular favorites in her room. One thing the mother and daughter share, however, is a love of the stars. In Japan, the 7th day of the 7th month is known as Tanabata, the Star Festival. Aoife spent her youth traveling the world, and she always was particular to the Japenese Star Festival. The ceilings of their home are filled with constellations and shooting stars painted by Aoife, and every year on Zephyr's birthday, they wait until the night and watch the stars overhead, eating ice cream and cake. Aoife and Zephyr both share a sweet tooth, with sugary sweets never being missing from their home.
Neither Zephyr nor Aoife know who her father is, Aoife having attended a Samhain festival, and gotten incredibly drunk on butterbeer and gigglewater. She could only remember his face, never his name, and had painted him once before. She kept the painting locked up in her room, but Zephyr had often snuck a peak, on occasion, promising herself to keep her eyes out for the man around Diagon Alley.
Zephyr is stubborn, intelligent, cunning, and curious. She looks at the world around her with childish wonder and enchantment, but calls herself a realist. She tends to be verbally cynical, however, she is a secret romantic. She has control issues, and feels that if anything is going to get done right, it will have to be done by her hand. Aoife has always been a "head-in-the-clouds" dreamer, and often forgetful once her mind wanders off to something new, and growing up, this led to Zephyr feeling the need to take on a caring role, often having to remind her mother when it was mealtime, help her with the banking, and fix things up when her mother's clumsiness eventually got the better of her. She is described by friends as being a "mother hen", often "parenting" those around her out of habit.
Zephyr, at age 10, began struggling with feelings of duality in her nature and character, mentally being ever the cynic, the realist, the little professor; emotionally, however, a dreamer, much like her mother, and a wandering old soul, empathetic and hopeful, with notions of romance. Both sides of her upset the other, and she often can be heard switching rapidly from snarky sneering to fanciful passion within a conversation.
The only part of Zephyr that she doesn't detest, however, is the part that often worries others. She is naturally manipulative, and she knows it. She has often been heard stating: 
"Manipulation isn't inherently good nor bad. There is positive and negative manipulation. Just like when parents lie to their children! It's what you do with your manipulation that matters!"
She has been called conniving, narcissistic, and sociopathic by those that misunderstand her, and while it hurts her feelings, she laughs outwardly when insulted, and keeps a poised smile on her face, drawing unease from her perpetrators quite often.
