Alania is the eldest child in her family with a younger sister called Ivy and a younger brother named Jasper. The Zabel family is a pureblood family that has gone back for centuries and this generation is one of the firsts with a female as a first-born.Most of the Zabel family have been in ravenclaw but they are open to all houses.

Esmeralda Zabel, Alania's mother is a well-known potions master who is currently a professor a Beuxbatons and enjoys it very much because that is where she grew up. Xavier Zabel, Alania's father is an auror working for the ministry of magic in England.

Alania is particularly interested in potions, like her mother, and one day hopes to open her own brewery. She has only occasionally played quidditch but prefers to be a chaser if anything.

Alania had her first sign of magic when she was just five years old. She was standing by the lake next to her manor when Ivy, her younger sister pushed her in. Alania got out and was so angry with her when all of a sudden she was completely dry. There was so sign that she had been pushed in!

Alania is closest with her sister Ivy as she is only one year younger than her and they are often seen getting into mischief together! Alania also loves her little brother Xavier too though, some people call them the three musketeers!
