Clem is an overly enthusiastic and easily excitable young boy. He is quite sensitive and reacts negatively if someone is not happy with his work. He blames himself if something goes wrong and he always seems to be putting others before himself. If somebody does something wrong and a teacher notices Clem always puts a hand up and states that it was him that did it, meaning he tends to be unpopular with most teachers. Despite always admitting that he is guilty despite actually being innocent, he isn't that popular within previous classes. He usually keeps himself to himself and knows when he is not wanted. Clem does have a few trust issues, and is awkward and antisocial when he meets someone for the first time, but after getting to know someone he opens up and reveals the huggable lump of joy that he hides.

Clem has coal grey hair, which is naturally wavy and sideswept. He has a skinny build and his posture is usually straight, unless he has something on his mind or he is upset. His skin is pale and he is covered from head to toe with freckles. Clem has one green eye (left) and one brown eye (right) and he needs to wear his glasses almost all the time due to him being extremely short sighted. The 11 year old has a round face, a slightly upturned nose and larger than average ears.

He was unaware about his family's history involving magic until his older brother confronted Clem at the ripe age of ten. Clem was raised by his brother from the age of four when his parents divorced. This is the cause of Clem's phobia of being left alone and he has to sleep in the same room as his older brother. The boy's brother has tried to teach Clem a few things in magic, but Clem refused stating that he wanted to start on the same level as everyone else at Hogwarts.

Despite that, the male does know that he has magic in him, as a few past experiences have shown and caused havoc in their bungalow. Clem found a book of "poems" in his brother's room when he was eight and read them out loud. He had been told that what happened after that had been just a dream, but at ten years old he realised that he had actually cast spells.
