Blaise Marlee was born in Dublin, Ireland. Her mother was a pure-blood witch, a graduate from Hogwarts. Her father was a muggle.
At Blaise's 9th birthday party, her parents had hired a magician. You know, the "pull a rabbit out of a hat" type of magician. He was using Blaise for a trick and pulled a quarter out of her ear. It fascinated her so much. She tried doing it herself, and pulled quarter after quarter out of her ear. The magician was confused, but her mother instantly knew what was going on and pulled her off of the stage.
When they got home that afternoon, Blaise's mother sat her down on the couch and explained everything about the wizarding world and Hogwarts. She told her that when she turned 11, she would go to Hogwarts too.
Finally, on her 11th birthday, Blaise woke up that morning, extremely excited about going to Hogwarts. She checked the mail. She saw, it, her Hogwarts letter.
Written in beautiful, black handwriting, she read it.
"Dear Miss Marlee,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.
