Paul Ross was born to Dominic Rostropovich and Ivana Hicks in spring of '07.
Both Dominic and Ivana were born in the year 1978. Dominic was born in St. Petersburg Russia and Ivana was born in Dallas Texas in America. They both had happy childhoods. Dominic's first magical experience was when he was around seven. He was playing in the yard, when off in the distance a bird landed on a fence and fell off, because it was hurt. Dominic ran to the bird and picked it up. Just by touching the bird it started to heal. Dominc ran inside and told his parents that he had healed the bird just by touching it and his parents sat down and told him they were a family of wizards and witches and what he just did was had his magical awakening.
Across the globe, a young 7 year old Ivana was at a muggle school and was playing in the sand box alone. Now Ivana's dream was to be a fairy princess in a magical kingdom, just like the princesses that were read to her by her muggle teacher. As she was playing she somehow was able to make the sand castle she was building come alive before her very eyes. A muggle teacher saw this and ran inside and told the principal, who called Ivana's parents. Ivana's parents rushed to the school to rescue their confused and scared daughter. After that Ivana's parents pulled their daughter out of school and began their own brand of schooling, now that Ivana had her own magical awakening.
When Ivana was just 9 years old, her father, was working for the MACUSA's Department of Magical Education. He got a job offer to transfer to the newly formed Student Exchange program in Russia. Ivana's father thought about this offer for many weeks. Arguing with himself and his lovely wife for hours on the advantages and disadvantages of going to Russia to start the program. Finally when the time came for his answer he took the job and packed up Ivana and their life and left for Russia.
When both Dominic and Ivana were 11 years old they got their letters. Dominic of course got his from Kolovstoretz and Ivana actually got two. One from Kolovstoretz, because she was living in Russia and one from Illvermorny, because she was American. At that time Koloverstoretz was a all boys school and they were just opening their doors to girls. Ivana's parents argued day and night on where to send her and what letter to accept. Now her mother wanted her daughter to go back to America to attend school, but her father thought it would be wise for her to attend the Russian school. Both schools presented themselves with a mixture of education and a stable magical life, but her father won out, because if they choose the American school, her father would of had to leave his job and leave a program that was unfinished and this program was too important to him and what better way to kick start this program was to let an American girl attend a Russian school. So Ivana's parents not only shopped for her school supplies, but they contacted a friend back in American who charmed a ring so that when Ivana heard Russian it translated it for her so that she could learn her lessons and not miss anything.
Ivana being the first girl to ever attend Koloverstortz caught the eye of all the boys there. She was a raven haired beauty. There was one boy that was smitten with her and that was Dominic Rostropovich. Now Dominic was your typical Russian boy. He had blond hair and blue eyes and was tall and very strong for a child of only 11.
Both Dominic Rostropovich and Ivana Hicks' school was not very special except when it came to Quidditch. In Russia, they play Quidditch, but on uprooted trees and not brooms, which is very strange indeed.
In their 4th year Dominic and Ivana started dating and had many friends. Among their friends were two boys Igor and Rasputin. Now Igor and Rasputin had the same last name of Romanov, but were from two totally different families. Unlike Ivana and Dominic, who were pure-bloods, Igor and Rasputin were muggle-born. The four of them were an tight knit group of students. They worked and studied together. They went on holidays together. Durning school breaks, Ivana taught the boys English and the boys taught Ivana Russian.
Around their 5th year at school Ivana and Dominic fell deeply in love and so did Igor and Rasputin. It was not uncommon for two male students to fall in love with one another, since it used to be an all boys school. Many of the professors were that way and it was celebrated unlike the muggle world of Russia, where it was frowned upon and illegal.
The 4 of them graduated together as full blown witches and wizards. Dominic had a love of animals and became one of the worlds leading Magicalzooloigsts. Ivana, went on and was employed by the Russian school to teach English along side the Muggle Studies Professor. Igor and Rasputin became two of the greatest Magical Doctors.
With all good things must come to end and the happy foursome had to split apart. Dominic went on a mission to Peru and Ivana stayed at Kolodovstoretz to teach English and Igor and Rasputin started a Magical Hospital in Moscow.
One fateful day Dominic was returning home from his mission to Peru and was going to see the current Headmaster of Kolodovstoretz, because they needed a new Care of Magical Creatures professor and well as he walked through the gates, there sitting on the steps of the school grounds was Ivana teaching a new class of first year students English. Ivana looked up and saw the dashing Dominic and dropped what she was doing and ran and flung herself in to Dominic's arms and it was like the love for each other never really faded away. So the courtship was renewed. A year later they were wed and about 8 months after that, Paul was born.
Meanwhile Igor and Rasputin, wanted to expand the hospital to St. Petersburg. So they flew from Moscow to St. Petersburg, right to the hospital where Ivana and Dominic were having their first and only boy Paul Rasputin Hicks. When the four of them locked eyes happy and sad memories were exchanged between the 4 young adults. Dominic asked Igor and Rasputin, that if anything should ever happen to either him or Ivana or both, that they would always look after young Paul and raise him as their own son. Little did Dominic know, that day would arrive, but not for another 5 years
Paul was a happy child and he was loved by both his parents and his Godfathers. They spoiled young Paul rotten, with games and toys, both magical and muggle alike. They took trips to Moscow and to the Kremlin. Now when Christoph was born he was born to a Russian and an American. So by law, he was both.

So Igor and Rasputin, Paul's godfathers had to step in and care and raise young Paul as their own. How they loved Christoph. So they petitioned the Magical Courts for adoption. It was a quick and easy process, because it stated in Dominic's and Ivana's will that Igor and Rasputin was to be their sons' legal guardians.
That same year Paul had his own magical awakening. His Godfathers took him to the park to play. His Godfathers were engrossed in a conversation about finances while Paul was chasing a butterfly. Unbeknown to Paul, that butterfly was a trap, that a Dark Wizard conjured up and it was leading Paul away from his loving Godfathers. It was getting late and when Paul's Godfathers realized this they turned and looked and their Godson was nowhere to be found. They were besides themselves. Meanwhile the enchanted butterfly was leading Paul closer and closer to the Dark Wizard. When Paul finally caught up to the butterfly he saw that his Godfathers were not around, so he tried to retrace his steps, but it was to late. The Dark Wizards trap has been sprung and Paul was caught. The Dark Wizard tried to grab Paul and tried to bring him along forcefully. Paul was scared out of his mind. Paul struggled with all his might and got away, but was chased by the Dark Wizard, who was mad that his query had slipped out of his hands. Paul ran as fast as he could to get back to his Godfathers, but the Dark Wizard was faster. The Dark Wizard reached out to grab Paul once more and Paul yelled out so loud that the force of Pauls voice threw the Dark Wizard back into a tree and was knocked out cold. Igor and Rasputin, who were franticly searching for their Godson, came running around a corner, just as the Dark Wizard was being thrown backwards. They were stunned, but also very happy that Paul, was not harmed by the Dark Wizard, but that their Godson's powers were beginning to manifest. Igor and Rasputin scooped Paul into their arms and they happy family were reunited once more. Igor called for the Russian Magical Law Enforcement, who woke the Dark Wizard up and arrested him and took him into custody. So Igor and Rasputin did what muggle-borns did in Russia in those days and they enrolled him into Martial Arts. Paul loved Martial Arts. He didn't like to spar, but he loved the forms and the muggle weapons. Paul flew threw the belt ranks in 4 years. Just before his 10th birthday he tested out and got his black belt. His Godfathers were very very proud.
A month after Paul turned 10, his Godfathers got word that the Russian Ministry's Department of Health was hosting an exchange program in England and his Godfathers jumped at the chance to not only see another part of the world, but to work along side some of the English Magical healers and doctors. So they packed up and moved to Maragate England.
