Being a half-blood, Iris comes from two completely different families. Her mother is a muggle and has a passion for painting and other forms of art, a passion Iris followed her footsteps in, having gained a love for drawing and watercolor painting. She has learned a lot of valuable life lessons from her mother, including making the best of what you have instead of being upset over what you don't.

Her dad, however comes from a previously pureblood family line. That is, until he decided to marry Iris's mother. However, he doesn't let the descrimination from his entitled family stop him from loving his wife and daughter unconditionally.

Iris had always been fascinated by her father's magic. Though she loves her mother very much, Iris had always wished as a little girl that she had inherited her dad's magical ability, and that someday she would be abe to attend the amazing wizarding school that he always spoke of.

Her magic failed to show until she was nerly 11 years old, so Iris spent a very large chunk of her life beliving that she was a muggle like her mother, and that she would never be able to learn magic or go to Hogwarts like she had always wanted to do. Luckily for her, her magic did show up eventually when she found herslef up high in an unclimbable tree in her backyard during a game of tag with her mother.

The family celebrated by letting Iris make whatever big change she wanted to her physical appearence as a symbolism of her new, more drastic change. Iris decided to dye her hair gray, despite the hesitance of both the hairdresser and her parents. To this day, they are all still surprised she hasn't regretted it yet.

Iris is definetly a closed off person, perfectly content with being alone. She had seen other kids being bullied at her school at a very young age, and decided that going unnoticed would be better than trying to make connections and risking everything for people that might just stab her in the back. Her family was enough, wasn't it? This isolation eventually led to low self esteem and a strong and ever-present fear of being judged by others. Now, she doesn't just love being alone, but fears being around other people.

Even so, Iris hopes that someday she'll be able find a person her age that she can trust, someone who she can connect with on a deeper level than just group assignment partners. She has always imagined how wonderful it would be to meet her soulmate.

APPEARENCE:

Iris has long, gray hair (dyed), which she normally wears in a messy side braid. Her eyes are a dark brown, and she is the average height for girls her age. Being only 11, she doesn't wear much makeup, but will occasionally throw on a coat or two of mascara and some lip gloss on random occasions. Outside of her school uniform, Iris lives in jeans, converse, and oversized hoodies/sweaters. If it's too hot for long sleeves, she usally opts for graphic tees, sticking to her tradition of looser fitting and oversized shirts.
