Sarah is a quiet, introverted child. She is very intelligent and does well in school, but she doesn't have many friends. She spends most of her free time reading and writing. She notices and understands more about people than they will ever know, and is able to read people almost as well as the books that she loves so much. She also cares about some people deeply, but does her best not to show it, as she thinks that if anyone does know that she loves them, they will leave her.

Sarah has brown hair and eyes, and smooth, pale skin. She is slender and graceful. She has a rather mysterious air, and many people say that she is a very serious child with an old soul.

Sarah had a happy childhood until the age of seven, when her mother died in a car accident when on her way to pick Sarah and her older brother up from school. Because of this, Sarah's father became harsh and distant, and he hardly spoke to his children except when fighting with them. Her brother ran away a year ago, when he was fifteen. Sarah hasn't heard from him since. Sarah became self reliant and started to prefer to be alone. Because of this, she often goes to her own little hideaway, beneath a special tree in the forest behind her home. There is a wooden swing hanging from the tree, and the moss around the tree's base makes the perfect place to sit and read or write.

Her magic first surfaced when she was nine years old and alone in the woods behind her house. She was crossing a stream while holding a book to get to her little hideaway. It had rained the night before, and the rocks were slippery and the stream was overflowing with deep, fast moving water. Her foot slipped, and she fell into the water. She closed her eyes, desperately wishing that she wouldn't drown. When she opened them again, she was lying safely on the other side of the stream, completely dry, book in hand.
