Origin
Oliver was born Oliver Laurent Faye-Leblanc to Marius Leblanc and Madeline Faye in the town of Stevenson, England, three years after his brother Adrian. His family lived together happily until Oliver was five years old. That year, Marius and Madeline were separated, and divorced shortly afterwards. The two had never been able to reconcile their arguments over their children- while both of them adored Oliver and Adrian, they had two different visions for the boys' futures. Eventually, the two could no longer agree on anything except that separating would be best for them all. Marius took custody over the children as Madeline receded away from the Muggle world.
At age seven, Adrian discovered his magical abilities when he accidentally blasted a hole in the wall during an argument, nearly injuring Marius in the process. After this incident, Marius firmly refused to allow his children to attend Hogwarts- only magical intervention from his ex-wife and her family got Adrian out of the house.
When Oliver turned eight, Madeline lamented, thinking it unlikely that Oliver would manifest any sort of magic by this stage of his childhood. By now, Adrian was in his first year of Hogwarts and had been living with Madeline's sister; in retaliation, Marius had tried to restrict Madeline's visits as much as possible. Everyone was surprised when Oliver woke up from a nightmare and discovered himself levitating above his bed.
Fearing that his only remaining child would be taken from him, Marius pleaded with Madeline to let him keep Oliver out of Hogwarts, hoping to raise the boy as if he were a Squib. Madeline refused, and after much arguing, Marius reluctantly agreed to release Oliver into the care of Madeline's sister.
At age eleven, Oliver is beginning his first year at Hogwarts. He occasionally bounces between Lucasta Manor (his aunt's home) and his father's house in Steventon.

Oliver is an extremely curious and studious child. As he was raised away from his magical heritage, he is fascinated by anything magical and has a desire to learn as much as he can to make up for the years he spent in a Muggle town. While he's friendly enough, he's not comfortable around strangers who are older than him; interacting with adults and older students makes him nervous. He has a habit of asking an overwhelming amount of questions, which can make him a little bit annoying.
