Stella Lucile Bennett was born to Henry Bennett (American Muggle) and Anna Campbell Bennett (English Pure-Blood) in the town of St Bees, England. From a young age, Stella took interest in her father's copious supply of books, spending cold and snowy days next to the fire flipping through them. Though Henry knew Anna was a witch, the two agreed that magic in their house would be kept under wraps until when or if Stella showed magic of her own.
Stella's magic first appeared at age 5 when she was trying to get a book down from a high shelf in her father's study. Stella, who had climbed up the bookshelf to try to reach the pretty gold-bound journal she had set her eyes on, accidentally tipped the shelf, causing the whole thing to begin to fall forward on top of her. When her parents heard the crash, they had both assumed the worst. However, upon running into the room, Henry and Anna discovered that their daughter had somehow protected herself from the falling shelf of books and now sat next to the fire, the gold-bound journal in her tiny hands. It was then that her mother knew that, while Stella had taken after her father in her love of books, she had taken after Anna in the ways of magic. From that day forward, magic was discussed openly in the household.
Stella herself is naturally curious, always looking to learn new things and go new places. She loves books, most of all those written by her author father, and can spend hours on end in her room reading. Despite this, though, she is also quite adventurous. Stella, who attended a muggle school until she turned 10, frequently explores her surroundings with her muggle friends, often getting into trouble along the way. Stella is neither overly outgoing nor extremely shy; she is capable of making friends on her own, but may be hesitant to approach new people for fear of being rejected by them. She's very smart, and because of this, she has a tendency to overthink things and this can sometimes lead her to become very anxious until the problem is resolved.
Stella is about average height for a girl of her age, but, as she has a high metabolism, she is a bit on the thin side. This has lead to some teasing from some of the muggle kids at school, however, with the support of her muggle friends, this teasing has not bothered her too much. She has thick, wavy, red/auburn hair that reaches down to her hip (her parents never really cut it), paler skin, and lots of freckles on her face and body. Her eyes are an amber/hazel color, and she has long, dark eyelashes that match the darker brown color of her eyebrows.
