When the letter from Hogwarts arrived, it was a huge surprise for both Alexander and his mother, although when thinking about it, it makes sense that her son is a wizard. All those times that he did weird things, that one time when his father chased him around the garden and Alexander suddenly disappeared only to be found a good thirty feet away, hiding behind a bush. Speaking of his father, he left the family after this incident, and no one has heard from him since. What made him leave his son is anyone's guess.

Alexander has spent most of his time up until his eleventh birthday in an old apartment with his mother. She is of non-magic blood, a muggle that Alexander will grow to know them as, and she always supported her son, even though he made strange things happen more than once. He couldn't explain it, didn't know what was happening, not until he got the letter and was introduced to a whole other world other than the one he grew up to know. They figured out that his father has to be a wizard, which makes Alexander want to know what happened, and he has decided to search for his father whenever he gets the chance, now when he knows there is more to life than the street outside his bedroom window.
