Physical Description: Sophia is 137 cm tall, has grey eyes with a soft hint of blue in them, straight black hair, and an overall round shape to her face. She takes great care of her physical appearance, and is therefore always seen with lush eyelashes, well-kempt hair, pearly teeth and trimmed nails.
Mental Description: She is very prideful, and, due to her upbringing believes herself to be superior to her peers until they either earn her respect, or somehow prove to be undeniably better than her at any given task. She can accept to be worse at something, but she will consider it a personal flaw to not be the best at any given thing. She's a perfectionist and hates being second. Naturally, while her mentality does help her strive towards excellence, the simple fact that it is impossible for her to actually be the best at any given thing, leads to her struggling to keep up with her own (and her family's) expectations, and therefore cause her to be often frustrated, if only just subconsciously. Most of her negative characteristic and unpleasant behaviour stem from this mentality and frustration. At the same time, if she manages to be proud of herself and finds people who she believes to be worthy of her attention and respect, or even her reverence should they be pureblooded and able to reliably impress her, she can show herself to be somewhat playful, witty, and overall fun to be around. She follows purist ideology, and therefore thinks poorly of Muggles, Squibs, Half-bloods and Muggle-borns alike, however she is rather disciplined, has a big respect for authorities, and was trained to hide her feelings and disgust so she is unlikely to insult them or even cause them issues in public. Still, she does not like these people simply because she was taught that they were a kind of 'enemy' to the wizarding world at large, and she was strictly forbidden from even interacting with them unless absolutely necessary. She's very judgemental, and egocentric, but even so, deep down she is actually kind-hearted. She's heavily misguided and has lived in a bubble that has shaped her to be, for lack of a better term, hateful during her early childhood, but with the shackles from her family coming loose and her being on her own now in Hogwarts she will finally be able to mold her own opinions. There is a possibility for her to see the error of her ways and mentality, though she will be biased towards being drawn to people who share her archaic ideology. Hogwarts will play a vital role in what her beliefs and personality will truly be once she grows up some. For now, she is what she was taught to be. Which means she attempts to always be the best, egocentric, selfish, cunning and ultimately fake. She was taught to hide her emotions if they did not suit the stereotype of how a lady should carry herself. Naturally, to cope with such demanding expectations, she is a little deluded. She tells herself that she performs better than she actually does, and is inclined to diminish others' accomplishments and achievements. Generally, this is not problematic, as she tends to keep her feelings to herself, but it can be if she is ever accused of not having done a good enough job.
Biography: Sophia is a daughter of a family which considers itself extremely prestigious, in spite of not being part of the Sacred 28, and, in general, not really relevant for the Wizarding World at large. She was taught that excellence is to be expected and that failure will lead to being disowned from the family. An idle threat, considering how much society has progressed in the past century, and how poorly a family would be seen for abandoning a child, but one that hangs over her shoulders nonetheless. She was raised having to fight for the love, affirmation and care of parents and older siblings alike. At times she even had to fight for their acceptance, and thus it has led to a complicated, difficult childhood. Even so, she was provided for, and, so long as she listened, which she very much did, she did get to feel loved and proud. It is an abusive way to raise a child, but it is a veiled abuse that the girl did not truly feel. She never felt unhappy, or mistreated, but at the same time she has never known unconditional love and care.
Still, she grew up with her future chosen for her. She is expected to go to hogwarts, excel in her education, find a prestigious job at the Ministry of Magic, marry a son of another respectable wizarding family, and then build a family with them. She does not understand the implications of having such expectations laid upon her, but, at the time of her receiving admission letter, she is rather proud and happy to have a laid out plan for her future. It made her feel like her parents believe in her, and it is everything to her. Naturally, once she learns what life truly is like, and discovers who she truly is, and what she truly wants, she will feel conflicted about it. But, for now, she is given a purpose and it gives her a lot of courage to tackle her first year at Hogwarts. She is, in her own way, happy, and looks forward to begin her studies.
First Instance of Magic: Her first instance of magic happened when she was only 5, she tripped over an untied shoelace while running and, while she was crying from the pain, her magical energy tied the shoelace for her as her parents arrived to see what had happened. This led to her being spared a scolding.
P.S. I deactivated the Kairi Glamateux account before making Sophia. I am therefore a returning player. I do not remember anything about the website, however, and would therefore appreciate any help that is intended for new players to be directed to me as well.
