Physical Description: Daisuke is a tall boy for his demographic at 5' (152.4 cm). He has an athletic build with medium musculature because he trains, works with his dad to subdue wild animals as part of his family's business, and is prone with getting into physical fights from time to time. Due to being outdoors a lot, his complexion is a light tan. His hair is black with fire-colored (a gradient of red, orange, and yellow) streaks that have been dyed, mostly in his front bangs, and are straight. It's also of medium length and somewhat thick due to his British/American mother's genes. It's styled to be windswept and more spiked in the back. Dai's eyes are a reddish-brown terra cotta color.
Mental Description: Dai is a tall, confident, lean but somewhat muscular boy who likes teasing people, sticking his nose where it's not wanted, and is prone to starting physical fights. He keeps his grades decent even if he's not the absolute best in his class because learning and demonstrating what he learns comes relatively easily to him. Despite this, he's considered something of a delinquent due to things like his dyed hair streaks and ear piercings. Being a half-blood with a Japanese muggle father and a foreign witch mother who's half British and half American, he tends to be looked down upon despite all his strong points and has to work twice as hard to act like he's not affected by others' opinions of him. In reality, however, he struggles with his own insecurities and will viciously retaliate against any insults to his family, his loved ones in general, and their honor - usually in the form of threats and physical violence.
Biography: When Jack Burnett was a kid in muggle school, he had a couple of friends: an older boy named Ren Wakahisa and a girl closer to his age named Jade Gibbon. When Jack accidentally had his First Instance of Magic, he had temporarily rendered Ren and Jade, who had been arguing with each other, mute. When the Gibbons had first approached Ren to try to help him with what Jack had inflicted, they had meant to wipe his memory of the ordeal and see if they could cure it if possible, but Jade hadn't wanted them to. She thought it would have done Ren some good to take a walk in her brother's shoes (since her younger brother had been born mute and that was partly what their argument had been about in the first place) and know how hard it was not to be able to communicate with words. Of course, to avoid suspicion, that meant she had to wait out Jack's magic as well, so she was willing to do so. Proud of their daughter's resolve, the Gibbon parents allowed Jade to have her way, thinking they could always have memories wiped after if things went horribly wrong, and that it was a huge hassle to selectively remove memories anyway, especially when they were so intricately intertwined with strong emotions and other memories of the kids' arguments.
Jade's parents thought they had made the right decision as Ren seemed to get steadily closer to their family, but once the magic wore off, everything had gotten out of hand. They still decided against wiping Ren's memory or reporting the incident because despite all that had happened, Ren had really seemed to grow and to have been helped by the time he had spent with the Gibbon family due to not having much of his own. Furthermore, they doubted the small incident happening to one muggle child would have been much of a threat to the wizarding world. After all, such inexplicable things happened from time to time and the other muggle adults involved had already written off the strange event as the children just being children. With Ren's only immediate family - his father and older brother - not being around much, it was doubted that Ren would tell them of the magical world, and that even if he did so, he wouldn't be believed.
Unfortunately, Jack Burnett's First Instance of Magic triggered the Ministry of Magic to investigate what had happened at the muggle school. When they discovered the magic had not been caused by one of the Gibbon children, who belonged to a magical family, but by Jack Burnett instead, they waited for the Gibbons to report the incident to the Ministry of Magic only to find that they did not. Jade and her older brother Jericho had tried to explain things to Jack's parents instead, but since the Ministry didn't trust two younger members of the magical world to handle the task to their satisfaction, they sent in their own experts - both to inform the Burnett parents and to track down the Wakahisa family in order to get their memories wiped.
As the Wakahisa family did shady business in the muggle world - hunting, poaching, trapping, and selling rare, endangered, and exotic animals - they were good at evading muggle law enforcement and had left the country shortly after the events following Jack Burnett's First Instance of Magic. As a result, they became a little difficult for the Ministry of Magic in the Great Britain to track them down, but they were still only muggles - or, as the Japanese called them, mumajin - and so eventually they were caught. Since they were caught in Japan, there was a bit of a situation over who had the jurisdiction to Obliviate them, but eventually it was decided that the British Ministry of Magic would take responsibility and they sent over an Obliviator to the job.
The Obliviator met with the Wakahisa's - the father, older son, and younger son. The younger son, Ren, was defiant, angry, and scared, but the older son seemed to understand the gravity of the situation and tried to get his younger brother to cooperate despite the brothers not really getting along. In the time that the Wakahisa's were interrogated to try to understand which of them knew about the magical world and just how much, the Ministry of Magic Obliviator ended up falling in love with the older son, Daisuke Wakahisa, who also seemed to fall for her in turn. In order to make the whole mess go away (although the Obliviator lost her job with the British Ministry of Magic as a result), the two decided to get married so that none of the Wakahisa's would have to be Obliviated because if they got married after Daisuke's memories were wiped, then the chances were that Daisuke's new wife would just have to end up telling him about the magical world all over again; especially if they ended up having a magical child.
And have a magical child they did.
Daisuke Noa Wakahisa was born on August 21st, 2015. His mother was half American, half British and was also a muggle-born witch who eventually got a job as an Obliviator at the British Ministry of Magic. Although Daisuke Noa Wakahisa was born in Japan, his mother's background prompted her to give Daisuke his father's name despite it not being typical among the Japanese to name a child after a parent. She also gave her son a middle name which was also not a typical custom in Japan. This was to help distinguish Daisuke Noa Wakahisa, the son, from Daisuke Wakahisa, the father, on paperwork. Daisuke's mother also refers to him as 'Noa', so his father ended up calling him that, too. However, to everyone else, he's known as 'Dai'.
First Instance of Magic: Mahoutokoro was an elite school with many pureblooded children. Purist culture tended to go well with Asian culture and many beliefs were similar such as the belief that foreigners and outsiders in general should not have been welcomed so easily into family lines. For this reason, Daisuke, with his muggle father and his foreign, muggle-born witch mother, was at a disadvantage and looked down upon a great deal by a good many of his classmates and their families even during his time in Mahoutokoro's day program before the age of 11.
When Daisuke was eight and a half years old, his father and grandfather were transporting an especially aggressive, hungry tiger to a buyer. The animal had been deprived of enough food to properly sustain it in order to weaken it, but that also made it more desperate and dangerous. As they were trying to load it into a cage, it escaped into the yard where Daisuke had been playing by himself. He was so shocked and had so little time to do anything that he remained where he was, frozen in place. The tiger, though declawed, still had its powerful jaws and sharp teeth and tried to open them to attack Daisuke - only to find that it couldn't open its mouth.
It pawed at its jaws, trying to undo whatever had happened to it, when Daisuke's father and grandfather finally managed to recapture it and get it into the cage. Not long after the tiger was safely secured, it was able to open its mouth again. Daisuke was later teasingly given the nickname of 'Tiger Tamer' by his father and grandfather. From there, Daisuke's parents were invited to enroll Daisuke in Mahoutokoro's day school for children seven and up.
