Physical Description: Nellie Elswood is a small girl, about 4’9 since she’s only a first year. She has this long blonde hair that’s curly in a loose way and goes down to the middle of her back, it was soft and sometimes a bit frizzy since she hadn’t yet completely learned how to take care of it properly, sure her mother had curly hair as well, but she just straightened it, however Nellie wasn’t allowed to yet. She also had this fair soft skin that somehow looked rather sun-kissed despite the fact she wasn’t particularly tan, it just held a warm sort of glow. Not to mention her large and expressive blue eyes that seemed to reflect every emotion she had, even if she tried to hide them.

Mental Description: Nellie Elswood was an absolute sweetheart. She often thought about others, how they felt, and she always tried to understand others. She was also a very naturally curious and intelligent person, she often thought about lots of what if stuff and she specifically had an interest for animals whether it be normal animals or magical creatures now that she knew they actually existed. She was pretty much impossible to figure out if you tried to figure out what she was thinking.

Biography: Nellie had a pretty alright family life, if you were ever to ask her about it. She grew up in a sort of weird situation, her family wasn’t exactly poor, but they weren’t really comfortable or rich either, they were maybe a little bit below comfortable living. Not really comfortable but not really poor. She had her mum, a woman named Rose Elswood, then she had her dad, a man named Gage Elswood. Nellie remembered growing up that she constantly felt like she had to compete with her siblings, her sister, Ruby, and her brothers, Arthur and Charlie. Ruby was a bit younger than Nellie by about a year while Charlie was about three years younger, then Arthur was older by six years. Arthur wasn’t particularly the smartest, while Nellie was pretty well academically so her parents focused on him in that area, then her younger brother Charlie was often more favored as the youngest in the family and often got whatever he wanted. Meanwhile Ruby was often favored since she was more ‘well-behaved’ when Nellie was younger since Nellie would get jealous and act out for attention. However, she eventually grew into her responsible, mature, sweet, and well-behaved self once she made more friends.

First Instance of Magic: Nellie’s first instance of magic was when she was six. It happened one day at a birthday party for her neighbor, the adults had been talking in the front yard laughing over wine while the kids were playing games in the backyard. They had all been playing hide and seek, Nellie had hid in the best place she could find nearby. Which was.. well.. just a thick-ish tree. She desperately hoped and prayed nobody would find her while she hid. Eventually.. someone did. Or rather, she thought they had. They instead walked right past her while she was right in front of them. She was very confused. Maybe just thought they were jokingly going past her. The truth, however, was that Nellie had turned invisible. Nobody knew though since nobody saw, obviously, and Nellie didn’t think of it like that. She just happily ran to her parents and told them about how she’d won hide and seek since she hid really well. Nobody suspected anything out of the ordinary really, just had a few kids accusing her of having hid inside the house, which was against the rules. They got over it, though.
