Mary's residence is in Inverness, Scotland.
Mary is a red headed girl with green eyes and freckles. She is a bit taller than the average 11 year old and a bit chubby. She has quite long ginger hair and its a bit wavy too, but she doesn't know what to do about it yet.
She is a funny and introvert girl, but is also a confident girl and believes in herself. Mary sticks with her convictions and she is brave enough to be herself, and to not be swayed by others. In school she is quite clever, but sometimes a bit lazy which doesn't always add upp to the highest marks. Books and drawing are a big interest, and what she usually do on her free time while she is alone. Though she does also like being in social settings, and are keen to join social groups and activities.
She is muggle-born and the first in her family to be born with magic. Though there is an estranged aunt on her mother's side that she wonders about, and if she could have some magic in her. Mary's grandparents sent her away to live with a distant relative in England when she was quite young and according to Mary's mother they rarely saw her again. Apparntly she became quite rebelious in her teenage years and evetually ran away, her mum tried to get in contact with her when she became an adult but never managed to track her down.
Mary is the second oldest of her four siblings and has an older brother, Calum, who is 15. She has a younger sister, Laura, who is 4 and a twin sister, Fiona, who she misses dearly.
They live in Inverness, Scotland, in a house with a big garden at the outskirts of the town with a couple of animals. Three dogs and a cat. Her mum works as a veterniarian and her dad work as a history teacher at the school.
Her closest friend is of course her twin sister, they have been glued to eachother since birth. They don't look the same, Fiona has dark brown hair and brown eyes. Their personalities are not very similar either and Fiona is a very outgoing person and is a very goal oriented person. She always likes to be doing something and takes part in many activities such as dance class and football. Though Fiona is also very clever and the twins often likes to read together and discuss their books, they often read the same book at the same time to be able to discuss it. Otherwise Mary's closest friends are her neighbours Walter and Katie.
Mary's first instance of accidental underaged wandless magic was when she was 9 and was climbing a tree with Fiona near their house, and a branch broke and Fiona was suddenly falling down the tree and they had climbed quite far up. Though suddenly, as Fiona was almost on the ground she was floating a couple centimeters of the ground until she was softly put on the ground. The twins never spoke about the incident again until their 11th birthday.
