Odette Clairmont… her almond-shaped eyes blue as the hydrangeas in June, silky long brunette waves shining under the sun in a golden haze. Her skin is pale as the snow, cheeks red as roses… she has soft features; small lips tinted pink naturally, round cheeks, a Greek nose with a small bump… she’s taller than the others her age even if it isn’t a significant gap which makes her look more mature than her peers. She’s naturally sleek, carrying herself with confidence.
Odette’s an expressive person. She always has been. She had found it quite hard to contain her emotions earlier in her life but eventually got used to hiding them. She’s never really been either an extrovert or an introvert; she adapts according to the environment. She’s a natural leader; she leads not because she likes to be superior (well, maybe that too), but because she likes the feeling of satisfaction after everyone’s content with the results. She doesn’t act without thinking, ever… people have told her that she looks like gears are turning in her mind all the time. That’s because they do. She always thinks… she thrives when people listen to her advice and things go according to her plans. She loves the feeling of being the responsible person. Sometimes she feels overwhelmed, with her family and their expectations, with her friends and the forceful interactions; she needs alone time to function, to live, to think…
The Clairmont family is a noble family… an old pureblood name that has been known as healers for generations… Odette's parents are healers, so are her brother and sister… as you can tell, she ought to be a healer too… she isn’t sure if she wants to be one yet… guess she does, considering she’s just eleven and her role models are her parents… she isn’t sure whether it will remain that way once she enters Hogwarts… her parents are strict. Mostly her mother. Father is too busy to care with his job and all the pureblood politics. He doesn’t care about anything other than her becoming a healer and finding a husband that suits their name. Her mother, though… she is all over Odette's life. How she dresses, what activities she is interested in, whom she’ll befriend, what grades she’ll get… Odette loved the attention; it made her feel special when she was just a child… she thought it was just motherly love. As years pass in Hogwarts, she starts to see more clearly… and grows distant year by year.
Odette’s first wandless magic was one of the moments that shaped her life… well, more like her mindset and dreams… it was in 2020; Odette was 5 back then. The Clairmont family had to apparate to France for father’s job, something about politics that Odette couldn’t care less about even if she had been older. They had apparated to a plain field in the middle of nowhere in Nice… But somewhere nearby Odette could hear the sound of waves and she could smell the lavender in the soft summer breeze… her parents were fighting over something, again, but she didn’t hear their voices… she only heard the shuffling of lavenders in the breeze and the waves of the sea; she had never felt more magical. She found herself floating in the air seconds later… not flying, no, not like that… like a stray balloon swaying in the air… she had never felt lighter… her parents instantly lowered her with a flick of a wand, and after a scolding from mother that felt like forever, she was once again embraced in her mother's arms… the magical feeling disappeared just as soon…
