Physical Description: Evangeline’s most noticeable feature is her bright and toothy grin. She has wavy brown hair that is neatly kept, and has hazel eyes that look brown in the dark but green in the light. She is shorter than most students in her year. Evangeline’s skin is fair-light, often covered by her robes or a nice sweater because of her eczema. There will be more information below. She often wears a gold necklace with a tiny wishbone pendant gifted by her mother, and brings a shell-shaped container with star grass salve in her pockets at all times.

Mental Description: An effervescent girl who thrives off of never-ending whimsy. Evangeline is a walking sugar rush for everyone she meets. She is genuine, heartfelt, and bubbly. Evangeline is a patient girl, always filled with willingness to help her friends when they struggle with something. She can be protective of her friends and is often the first person to take care of someone. Evangeline is deathly afraid of spiders, but constantly masks herself with courageousness by facing her fears. She does this by strategizing ways to get the spider out of her room. Despite knowing lots of people and considering them friends, Evangeline pulls herself away when someone tries to get close to protect her heart. She has a hard time communicating when she needs help, and tends to go silent instead. Evangeline has this crave to be the most independent in the room no matter what. She forgives easily, but never forgets. Evangeline holds herself up to higher standards, leaving no room for slip-ups and mistakes, but she often does. She mentally berates herself over it. Evangeline uses her energy to hide all the flaws she has, in fear of people disliking her for it. Besides, you wouldn’t notice a thing! She'll always greet you with a smile on her face.

TW: A statement mentions miscarriage & there are mentions of eczema

Hailing from Scotland, the Hare family was an upper middle class family that lived in Edinburgh, Scotland. Evangeline’s muggle mother, Harmony Hare (maiden name: Reyes), and her wizard father, Evander Hare, met while Evander had been exploring the muggle world. He worked as a healer at St. Mungo’s at the time, while Harmony worked as a civil engineer. Harmony got stood up at a date and Evander offered to fill that empty spot for one night, and they ended up falling in love. After two years of courtship, they married each other by the beach.

It wasn’t until after Harmony was pregnant that Evander panicked and told her the truth about how he is a wizard. Harmony was in disbelief and distraught at the truth, hurt at the fact Evander would hide such a thing. Along with their heavily demanding jobs, this created an increase in tension between the two but they decided to stay for the baby. But because of so much tension and stress, Harmony went through a miscarriage. It wasn’t until that moment they came together in their grief and fell in love all over again. They made an effort to better their relationship and assist each other whenever needed.

Evangeline was born a few years after the miscarriage, making her a rainbow baby. Her parents were so filled with hope and gratefulness, they made her middle name Pagasa which means hope in Tagalog, which is Harmony’s dialect. Her parents became overly attached and protective towards Evangeline, doing everything in their might to put her first. She grew up with loving parents, but they were so loving that it became suffocating for little Eva. She has always had everything done for her, leaving her vulnerable and overly dependent on her parents, which they like but Eva hates.

Evangeline grew up in a muggle neighborhood in Perth where she was homeschooled by her aunt on her father’s side, Evie Hare. So while Harmony could focus on her engineering job in Edinburgh, Evander could focus on his healer job in London through Apparition. Evangeline had her fair share of both the muggle world and the wizarding world because of her parents, but Evie had taught her a lot more on the wizarding world than the muggle world. Evie taught her basic spells (without a wand, of course; just visualization using Evie’s wand) and also taught her basic muggle education, such as Mathematics and English. Evangeline understood how to do basic muggle stuff as well, like cleaning the dishes without magic or what typewriters are.

Evangeline also grew up with mild eczema. It is a medical condition that she inherited from Harmony that causes itchiness and inflammation to the skin. Because her mother is experienced, she tried to use countless ointments on her skin but none worked. Her father was much more knowledgeable, given that he is a healer. The medical remedy is a container of star grass salve, used to soothe and heal the inflammation. However, the effects of the ointment won’t last too long because the condition is genetic on the muggle side. So, Evangeline has to adapt. Her skin only flares up when she is overly stressed and nervous, or in areas that are too cold, too hot, and too windy.

First Instance of Magic: Evangeline's first instance of magic was rather cute. When she was six, she would sit on the kitchen counter while her mother tends to the plants by her kitchen window. After a long trip, the flowers eventually wilted, leaving her mother in distress and sadness. Evangeline watched her mother mourn the flowers, feeling empathetic. Watching her mother get upset always made her feel the same way, and it always made her want to do something. But she never knew what besides keeping her company. So little Eva walks over to give her mother a hug on the leg. At that moment, the flowers unexpectedly bloom back to normal right in front of her mother's eyes.
