Background

My father, Jean Voclain, has always been an adventurous wizard. Originally from Paris, he went to Trinity College in Cambridge, where he met and fell in love with a fellow classmate, a Muggle named Flora Thatcher. They married some years after graduation, and I came along thirteen months later.

I spent my childhood traveling all through the United Kingdom – Edinburgh, Bath, Glasgow, Oxford, Loch Ness in Scotland, on a boat-house along the River Thames – but always return to our permanent resident in London. Being a wizard, my father also enjoyed introducing his children to astronomy, and potions, but only my younger sister Belle finds them intriguing. To my parents’ surprise, I am more interested in the magical beasts – and herbology, although lesser than the love for the beasts.

There were some hard times such as sibling rivalry or misunderstanding with my parents, but mostly my childhood was full of sunshine. I have fond memories of getting my first teddy bear on Christmas, playing with my cousins, and calling card-changing with my friends when the object became a trend among us. But my favourite is the memory of voices and sound, of my father’s stories and my mother’s piano.

Personality

As an introvert, people usually call me shy. Although it does happen when I meet new people, or those I am not comfortable with, I am always confident in my areas of expertise such as inside the classroom or among the animals. A bookworm and ladylike, I am not athletic or very fond of sports like quidditch, but there are things I dislike more – injustice, dishonesty, and fake people.

Appearance

I inherit my mother’s brown eyes and my father’s jet-black hair, which I grow to shoulder-length with a side-swept fringe. My originally-fair skin is now quite tanned from all the times I spent outside with the animals.
