Oriana has very big blue eyes. She likes to think of herself in terms of water, and has a preference for the colour blue. Her hair is blonde, long and slightly. she has puffy cheeks and a very innocent expression. She's the kind of child where people just want to squeeze her cheeks all the time, especially as they're often flushed. She has heavy dimples too, and the particularity of upper teeth jutting out slightly. sometimes she lisps.

Oriana is very naive, and quite dreamy. She really really likes to sit by bodies of water and stare into them until she can see all of the small creatures that there are. she has discovered that staring into any space, actually, has a capacity to reveal things, and that is why she prefers staring over books, although those are nice too. When she does read she likes muggle romance novels, especially fantasy ones where she can giggle over how it is so incorrect in relation to her magical reality.

To people around her, she can tend to be quite silent. That is, until she gets excited about something. Then she will really really really go for it, and talk a lot. Mostly, though, she only does this if she feels perfectly comfortable. Otherwise, she will tend to pretend that she doesn't exist, and avoids crowded social situations. She does, however, make very strong and loyal friendships, these just take a while for her to do. She has to observe the future friend a lot before deciding that it is safe.

She does not tend to cry easily in public, but she does mist over completely and erase herself. She bottles things up and lets it out afterwards, when she is with people that she trusts or by herself. For this reason, she is learning prepares social interactions in advance, or else to write letters for difficult conversations (her mother suggested her this technique).

Jokes are also difficult to her. She often doesn't understand what other people find funny. In this way, she is nor mean nor kind, she is mostly just.. lost. She feels like she does not interact in the same reality as other people, which means that she often feels as if the world is playing by a set of rules that she cannot understand. She does, however, try to make other people feel comfortable when she can, and is very good at remembering other peoples' preferences or dislikes. In this way, people tend to feel very seen by her, once she opens up to them.

Her parents are very kind people, soft spoken and communicative. Her mother works in an awareness raising magical NGO that does awareness around discrimination to squibs and muggleborns, and she also has a lot of muggle culture around the house, especially books (she shares her daughter's fascination for muggle literature, but is more into historical fiction). Her father works to clear magical beasts from peoples' homes. They live in a neighborhood in Pembroke with a view over the cliffs, and have a really nice magical garden, in which Oriana's mother (Lyana) grows vegetables, and in which her father (Bryan) grows species in relation to the magical creature that he happens to be hosting in it. There is also a pond in that garden, which Oriana thinks of as her own.

Oriana went to muggle school sporadically, and otherwise was schooled with some wizards in the neighborhood. It was kind of communal homeschooling, you could say, and her favourite teacher is a neighbour named Dearie, who is very plump with curly red hair, and tended to teach the children skills like gardening and magical cooking. Her father taught them about magical creatures when he had time, and another neighbour's father taught them about magical institutions and history.

Oriana's first instance of wandless magic was in the month of May, when she was 7 years old at muggle school. She was day dreaming while the teacher spoke about math. She really didn't get math, so she was daydreaming a love story between her and a boy in the class. In her daydream, they were on a ship together, and pirates were approaching. He was frightened, but she was able to use this opportunity to show that she was a wizard and magically take out her wand to save the day! at that moment, water began to leak from the sides of her desk, which also vaguely began to be carved like a ship. Needless to say, the water was interpreted as spillage from.. well, from her. she was mortified and did not go back to muggle school until the following school year. As for her muggle crush... well, she pretended that he didn't exist anymore, and prompty found a new crush on her return.
