She has long, dark hair that falls past her shoulders and has almond-shaped eyes. Her face is soft, with peachy cheeks and a light dusting of freckles across her nose. She is of average height and build for her age, neither particularly tall nor short. Her gentle features often make her appear thoughtful, though curiosity is usually shining in her eyes.

She is creative and artistic, she enjoys finding beauty in small details others might overlook and loves to explore the unknown paths hidden in reality.
Despite her shyness around people whom she hasn't met just yet, she is warm, cheerful, and kind once she feels comfortable. Her imagination is vivid, and she often becomes lost in her own thoughts, ideas, and daydreams.

She was born in Oxford and moved to Macao where her parents worked for a few years but returned to England so she could attend Hogwarts. She grew up in a loving home with caring parents and a baby sister she adores despite being a bit annoying at times.

When she was seven, back in Oxford, she experienced something that would be life altering. It was a hot summer night and her parents had an important banquet to attend and took the children along. As her little sister - who was a baby at this point -, was playing in the middle of the main hall underneath a beautiful antique chandelier made of crystals, May noticed that something was not right and as she turned to see her sister, the chandelier cracked and start falling in her sister's direction. In a moment of pure sheer panic, May closed her eyes and when she opened them, very reluctantly, she could see the chandelier floating in mid-air. This was how she knew she could practice magic.
