Ciaran Rafferty
Status:
Pure-blood
Nationality:
Irish
Residence:
Finny, Ireland
Function:
Second year, Hufflepuff
Wand:
30,8 cm chestnut wood and unicorn hair
Appearance:
Ciaran is a little bit taller than the average height for his age. His skin is slightly sun kissed and his hair is dark, long and thick. He is a little on the skinny side with fairly broad shoulders and some piercings in his ears. When it comes to his clothes, he really doesn't care too much. It has some bohemian and tribal influences with items ranging from ripped jeans to harem pants, tank tops and shirts. He also seems to be quite fond of beanies and hats and wears a lot of leather bands and bracelets around both of his wrists. Shoes really aren't his thing and he walks around barefoot whenever he can get away with it. In the winter, especially when there's snow, he'll wear a pair of leather boots with fur lining on the inside to keep warm.

Personality:
Even though he seems like the odd one out, Ciaran is a very level headed and calm boy. The fact that he doesn't have an evil bone in his body is something that is quickly apparent to the people around him. He is often happy and open towards others, always seeing the best in the most difficult of situations. Even though he can be a bit naive at times, he is someone that will set his own boundaries and stick to them. It is pretty hard to actually upset him or make him lose his cool. He can however, be very protective of the people that are closest to him and will do anything to defend them.

Backstory:
Born and raised far away from any kind of civilization, Ciaran his youth was anything but ordinary. As a part of one of the most hidden pure-blood tribes in Ireland, his days were peaceful and quiet. And especially, full of learning everything there was to know about the local herbs and how to use them in either potions, tinctures or balms. They also kept a lot of animals and magical creatures. Using everything, from their manure to their fur or scales. Living this close to and in harmony with nature as their ancestors (the druids) did before them, the tribe thrived and hardly any of their children ever went to Hogwarts or any other school for that matter. They all got homeschooled and taught the ways of their tribe, starting at a very young age. It soon proved not to be enough for the young wizard, as his hunger for knowledge kept on growing beyond what his peers could (or would) teach him. The boy quickly turned his eyes towards the rest of the world, especially after receiving his Hogwarts letter. It should be noted, that only two before him, had left the tribe to study at the school of witchcraft and wizardry (to never return to that way of life). And he had to move heaven and hell to get them to let him go. Knowing nothing about the world outside of the deep woods he called home for the first eleven and a half years of his life, leaving it, was quite scary. He however so far, has proven to be quite adaptable.
