There are no tragedies or shocks in John's life, he had a quite normal childood and so his mind equilibrated.

Biography: He is born in Brighton in the south of England. His family is pureblood from many generations but they never had any contrast or problems with the local Muggle community, despite they never really had strict contacts with any of them.
John is grown with the stories about Hogwarts and the rest of the magic world. Both his parents attended to Hagwarts until 19 years ago, his father was a Gryffindor while his mother was a Slytherin, and that's it's quite a strange couple itself, that's probably why they're not really considered between the pureblood extremists in the magic community.
John was so happy when he received his letter from Hogwarts, despite his few unwanted magic incidents he has been really worried to be excluded until the very end...
