Physical Description:
Upon first glance, Artemis can be seen to have pale skin and sharp, ocean blue eyes behind round spectacles. She appears to be slightly short and slim for her age but healthy nonetheless, with curled, light brown hair that cups her round face.

She usually dresses in plain clothing of light colors; blue jeans and jumpers or sundresses during the summer, and also fancies a beige cardigan that she sometimes wears at all times despite the weather conditions.

Mental Description:
In general, Artemis seems curious and has a habit of not leaving questions unanswered. She tend to be very observant and can easily spot a misplaced encyclopedia or when someone's story doesn't add up; as far as she can for her age, at least. She is kind, but her bluntness can sometimes result in hurting others.

Biography:
Artemis was born in Belfast, Ireland, to the wizards Hanna and Benedikt Devine. Both Half-bloods. At the age of three, the family moved to a quiet Muggle neighborhood in London. Hanna is a housewife and Benedikt works for the Ministry of Magic's Department of Magical Transportation as a cartographer. Artemis believes that her father just draws maps of places that haven't been discovered yet.

She went through her primary education normally at a Muggle school and had a pretty ordinary school life. She had a best friend throughout all her school years. A Muggle girl named Mary Anders, who was also her neighbor and thanks to her, she had the best school years of her life. But the best were yet to come.

After her first magical mishap, she was told everything about Hogwarts by her parents and she couldn't wait to get that letter at last. And finally, that moment arrived. Of course, she was also told not to mention anything to Mary, who cried her eyes out when she heard that they will not continue to the same school in their later years or even see her during the season. But Artemis reassured her that they would see each other again during the Summer holidays. And so, Artemis bid her farewell. For the time being.

First Instance of Magic:
Artemis was nine years old when she had visited the small library in her local Muggle school in the hopes of finding a geography book to help her with her homework. One of the troublemakers of the school, who was making fun of Artemis for her hair, snatched the book from her grasp as she was sitting at a corner and walked away laughing. Blinded by rage and blood rising to her head, she snapped at him and yelled. As the boy was holding the book, sneering, the pages began to shuffle and turn uncontrollably, causing the book to close on the other end and drop to the floor with a loud "snap", just when the librarian peered over her desk to tell them to be quiet. The boy could not move and for a moment, Artemis saw the terror in his eyes before he stormed away.

For some time, she thought that it was perhaps a strong gust of wind, but after she told her parents she was reassured that it was her first conscious instance of magic.
