Physical Description
Leanne has the for her family, typically wildly untameable, auburn-coloured hair, and a face that looks young, even for an eleven-year-old. The upturned nose and slightly larger than average eyes don‘t do her any favours in this regard, and neither does her being quite small for her age with just under 136cm. Her skin is as pale as the rest of her family, and covered in tiny freckles.

Mental Description
Leanne has never not been excited about learning something new. From taste-testing every magical ingredient in her mother‘s garden and then writing a critique of it, to cataloguing every insect that she found in and around their house - there was nothing too mundane for her. „Bored“ is not a concept she will ever be familiar with. As excitable as she was, she was also quite loud. Leanne also doesn‘t really understand the concept of people not being as interested in something as she is. She is always ready for any suggested activity, doesn‘t overthink social situations and just does whatever she feels like would bring her the most joy in that moment, for better or worse. The only thing that seems to scare her is the concept of actually casting magic.

Biography
The Raenbells didn‘t want much to do with anything that concerned the rest of the world - and Sancreed was the perfect place for that. Linda Raenbell is a very happy, very short and very dedicated Herbologist who spends her days tending to her gardens with the help of Leanne. Eric Raenbell on the other hand is a very tall, very burly and very friendly Potioneer. They live a comfortable life, selling their herbs and potions to a core group of buyers in the south-west of England. Leanne helped them with everything from a young age, taking in every bit of information they would share with her. The neighbours were few and far between and mostly older people, which did not leave Leanne with much choice in companions. Aside from her calico cat, Pocket, she rarely interacted with anyone outside of her parents. Not that she ever seemed like that was a detriment. She would spend her days being out and about: playing with frogs, building treehouses, collecting strange rocks and plants, and through all that Pocket was bravely at her side. The habit of speaking to Pocket as a regular conversational partner was not something she considered odd. She‘s already sad about having to leave Pocket behind, but she knows she can‘t just take him with her.

First Instance of Magic
It happened quite late for Leanne. Her parents, who were big fans of the ordinary despite their own magical occupations, were looking forward to raising a squib daughter. Then suddenly it would come differently after all, when seven-year-old Leanne had fits of uncontrollable sneezes that shot out tiny flames, setting part of her parents’ crops on fire in the process. Linda and Eric were right there and could swiftly deal with the situation at hand, but the aftermath was an inconsolable young Leanne. The only thing their parents worried about was wether she was safe, but Leanne never quite managed to get the memory of burnt crops out of her head.
