Maya has dark brown curly (2C) hair and brown eyes. She is of above-average height, being 5 ft. She has a more or less athletic build and freckles all over her face.

Maya is extremely extroverted, outgoing, and bubbly. She likes thinking highly of people and refuses to let others' opinions influence her view of them. She enjoys painting and daydreaming, but wants to become a professional Quidditch player.

Before Hogwarts, she lived in Waterford, Ireland, and grew up with 3 siblings. There was a lake near her house, and she spent a lot of time swimming in it and playing with her siblings. She was lonely every time they went to Hogwarts, seeing that her youngest older brother was 9 years older than her. Her mom is originally from France and went to Beauxbatons, so she often spent her summer in Nice. Her dad went to Hogwarts and grew up in London despite being from Ireland. He was a Hufflepuff. Her older sister, Saoirse, was in Ravenclaw, her 2nd older brother, Brian, was in Gryffindor, and her 3rd older brother, Finn, was in Hufflepuff
When Maya was about 9 years old, she was sick in bed after swimming in the lake while it was raining. She sneezed, and bubbles came out. Her parents were so happy, they gave her a cat, whom she named Jerry.
