Physical Description:
Toby is 4'7" (138 cm), growing a little shorter than average, but not by much. He has dirty blond hair that's a mix of curly and wavy. He's a little tan with rosy cheeks, and only gets a dusting of freckles in the summer, though they disappear in the fall. He's usually seen in muggle clothes when not in his school robes, preferring comfy sweaters and jeans. He has green eyes that take after his Ma's, but he has his Da's hair and nose. He has a small scar on his shoulder from his cat at home, who got startled while he was carrying her, but he likes to tell a story of a bear attack to the kids in his primary school.
Mental Description:
He prefers to go by Toby, as Tobias is the name his Ma uses when he's in trouble. He's rather shy when interacting with new people or people he isn't very comfortable around, often going non-verbal or semi-verbal. He grew up a muggle, so he uses a cane or crutches sometimes to help his mobility, as that was the solution the muggle doctors came up with for his pain. Since discovering the wizarding world, his pain management has been much better with a wider range of solutions, but sometimes he still uses his crutches to get around on bad days. He’s a hard worker in anything he does, just wanting to make the people around him, and his Ma, proud.
Biography:
He lives at home in Cardiff with his Ma and his cat, Biscuit. He has an older brother that moved out a few years ago for uni, and his Ma and Da separated when he was small, and hasn't been in contact with his Da since. It's not like he remembers him anyway, so it doesn't effect him. It's a pretty quiet life; go to school every day, walk around the lake, play with some friends, help Ma with dinner, and fall asleep with Biscuit. But ever since he discovered he was a wizard, things have been a bit strange. Obviously nobody at school knows, but his Ma has been acting a bit stranger than usual ever since. Like he's going to cause a fire at any possible time, or something. She isn't neglecting him or anything, just treating him a bit like glass, and it's rather annoying. But other than the struggle of getting wizard money and trying not to blow up the house accidentally, nothing much has changed.
Though when he was 7, he was diagnosed by a muggle doctor with hyper-mobile Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, hEDS for short, which doesn't effect his life much other than the hyper-mobility issues. He uses mobility aids occasionally, and got bullied a bit by the kids at school, but he's adapted pretty well and has gotten used to the pain. He's worked through it and has taken it like a champ. Like mentioned earlier, after learning about wizarding doctors and medicine, he's managed his pain much better than before, even though his Ma was skeptical about it at first.
First Instance of Magic:
His first instance of magic occurred when he was 4 years old. It's not one that had any cause, really, it kind of just happened. He was playing with some building blocks in the living room while his Ma was making a snack, and one of them just disappeared. Not for long, only a few seconds before it came back, but it freaked him out enough to stop playing with those specific blocks, no matter how much his Ma tried.
